Description:
PETCO has an immediate opportunity for a Sr. IT Manager – LAN who is responsible for managing the Server Admin Group and the overall daily server and datacenter operations of PETCO's corporate network including selection of technology, upgrades, installation and troubleshooting of server related hardware and software.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure that PETCO's server network remains operational on a 24-hour basis; lead the team that troubleshoots and resolves system problems at the server, and network levels; and upgrade same levels of architecture to maximize productivity and meet overall business needs.

2. Select, maintain and support multiple Enterprise systems including, but not limited to: Microsoft Exchange, VMware, CITRIX, Internet Filtering, NAS storage, and Server Lifecycle management tools.

3. Maintain the server security on the network both for external and internal forces. Windows 2003/2008, Linux and other operating platforms.

4. Defines and sets project objectives, scope of work and ensures completion of project objectives in a timely manner.

5. Directly responsible for monitoring the use of software by PETCO and its employees in accordance with licensing agreements by vendors and legal requirements.

6. Creates, monitors, and adjusts budget and target date variances and manages vendor relationships and negotiates contracts.

7. Maintains server/storage company disaster recovery program to ensure that corporate information is not lost in the event of an unforeseen incident (i.e., computer virus, and natural disaster).

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Technology or related experience required.
• Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) preferred.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.

A minimum of 10 years experience in a similar position working with Microsoft 2003/2008 and or Linux servers, including at least 7 years prior supervisory or management experience, is also required. Extensive knowledge of server architecture and networking as well as a solid understanding of system analysis and designed required. Experience managing Cisco routers and switches is desired. Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and customer service skills required.
