Commercial Sales Representative--Job Description

Culligan International is currently seeking customer service oriented individuals with experience in business-to-business sales to service the needs of its growing commercial customer base.
The CSR works directly with commercial customers and represents Culligan in the generation of new leads/sales alongside the upkeep of current customers. CSRs market water treatment applications and provide support for any related service issues. The sales representative also performs marketing duties assigned by the sales team such as attending trade shows and hosting local events to promote Culligan’s products.
Essential Job Duties:

  • Proactively generating leads and setting appointments through the use of business-to-business cold calling, prospecting local businesses, and presenting proposals to new building/construction projects.
  • Maintaining a professional relationship with contractors, construction managers, business owners, engineers, and other contacts to build referral networks.
  • Creating innovative presentations, distributing information packets, and preparing marketing packages to capture new customers and up-sell to current customers.
  • Evaluating all revenue generating opportunities within a customer or prospect and designing customized proposals based on findings.
    Minimum Education Requirements:
    College degree in science, engineering or business preferred, but not required

    Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
  • Water treatment experience chemical, mechanical, or industrial is preferred.
  • Experience with technical sales.
  • Prior sales experience in an industrial or business-to-business situation is required.

    Special Knowledge/Skills and/or Abilities:
  • Computer proficient. (Microsoft preferred)
  • Strong communication abilities with superior interpersonal/networking skills.
  • The ability to readily absorb and present new technical information.
  • Ability to self-start and work efficiently and productively with minimum supervision.
  • Flexibility of schedule.
  • Superior time management, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Must obtain Culligan sales license within 120 days of employment.
  • Valid state drivers license with clean record.
    Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • Required to drive from appointment to appointment, CSR may spend large amounts of time driving/in automobile.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds
  • CSRs will experience a variety of environmental conditions and settings such as offices, factories, and construction sites.
