PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Relationship Manager II acts as the business point of contact for RPS' defined contribution plan clients. He/she provides centralized accountability and serves as the client advocate within all areas of T. Rowe Price. Primary responsibilities include the facilitation and coordination of all service delivery efforts including Recordkeeping, Participant Communications, Consulting, Investments and Profitability Management. The primary responsibility is to retain business by ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Proactively interact with clients acting as a consultant on plan design consultation, investment performance and measurement, legal and regulatory input, participant communication efforts, new products and services and retirement industry best practices. Ensure client retention via active management of client relationship at every appropriate level. Active management includes presentations to Retirement Plan and Investment Committees including client senior management.
2. Provide global account leadership by proactively and strategically addressing client issues across all TRP departments, working in conjunction with fellow Client Service Team members. Coordinate high quality service delivery with internal team via identification and resolution of client service issues. Participate or lead, as appropriate, any efforts to resolve client dissatisfaction of service delivery.
3. Develop an Annual Business plan with cross-functional, client-focused teams to ensure that clients' needs are collectively understood and appropriately addressed.
4. Support Sales efforts via participation in prospective client meetings. Instill prospect confidence in T. Rowe Price by demonstrating that your role as point of accountability equates to dependability and the foundation of a solid future relationship. Support coordinated departmental efforts via taskforce and committee participation as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
*College degree and four years of related work experience, OR a minimum of eight years related work experience
*5 years defined contribution/industry experience is required
*Professional demeanor and diplomacy an absolute must
*NASD Series 6, 7, 63 a plus. Series 7 / 63 to be achieved within six months of hire. Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner certification, and Defined Contribution Plan Administration Certification also a plus.
*Team Player - must be able to work well with other internal department associate in order to deliver high quality service
*Ability to think critically on a strategic level, take initiative and problem-solve
*Ability to prioritize, anticipate needs and coordinate several projects simultaneously
*Excellent communication and organizational skills
*Self-Starter - able to work independently and use good judgment in decision-making
*Above average PC skills and software aptitude
*Strong mathematical abilities, analytical skills and attention to detail
*Strong knowledge of mutual funds investment styles and the investment industry
*Excellent oral and written communications
*Exceptional relationship building/client servicing skills. Ability to comfortably maintain poise and diplomacy amongst both client and TRP senior management.
*Negotiation and influencing skills
*Ability to travel
