Profile:
The Senior Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for the preparation, consolidation and analysis of the company’s short-term and long term financial planning requirements; including the 5 year strategic plan, seasonal budgets, and monthly and weekly forecast updates. The position maintains/supports the financial budgeting system and drives system improvements and enhancements.
The position reports directly to the Manager - Financial Planning & Analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Consolidate seasonal budgets for all divisions and for all corporate departments
- Prepare corporate and divisional P&Ls, balance sheets and statements of cash flow
- Prepare analyses to explain current trends and variances in financial reports.
- Gather and maintain peer reporting statistics.
- Prepare presentations to the CEO, CFO and the Board of Directors
- Maintain, operate and improve the Company’s current budget software
- Continually improve processes, drive change and elevate the level of reporting for the overall corporation, for divisions and for corporate departments.
- Develop financial models to support business decisions.
- Support the testing and implementation of forecasting and reporting changes as an outcome of the company’s migration to SAP
Knowledge / Competencies:
- Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting - MBA or CPA preferred
- At least 3-4 years of experience within a finance function - with strong skills in financial planning and analysis, modeling, systems, accounting and reporting. Some background in retail or consumer packaged goods industries would be a plus.
- Creative thinker - ability to visualize corporate objectives and evaluate alternative approaches to their achievement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a must - Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Cognos Analyst system and SAP is highly desirable
