Disney Interactive Studios (DIS) is the interactive entertainment affiliate of the Walt Disney Company. Disney Interactive Studios develops, publishes, markets and distributes a broad portfolio of video games on multiple platforms for audiences of all ages.
Our family of studios includes Propaganda Games in Vancouver, British Columbia, which developed Turok, based on the highly popular franchise; Fall Line Studio in Salt Lake City, which develops titles for Nintendo DS and Wii; Avalanche Software, also in Salt Lake City, focused on creating innovative games based on original intellectual property and Disney animated feature films; and our Brighton, UK studio, Black Rock Studio, known for developing award-winning titles and best selling racing games. Recently, we acquired Junction Point Studios in Austin, Texas headed by industry visionary Warren Spector.
INTERNATIONAL PRODUCER
This position will provide day-to-day product management and coordination on DIS US side of video games in development by DIS Japan, and DIS Europe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Represent in the US office the production of game titles for the DS, Wii, PS2, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360 being developed overseas.
Responsibilities:
oPresentations & Demos: Give presentations and product demos as necessary to peers, management, stakeholders, and press.
oSchedules & Reports: Create and maintain development schedules, perform milestone reviews, track all submissions and invoices, and submit weekly written progress reports on each assigned title.
oMilestone reviews: Document and deliver to overseas office detailed art direction, gameplay, technical and legal feedback and approvals for all game milestone submissions including design documents, asset submissions, and work-in-progress builds. Task includes routing to other internal resources for feedback.
oGreenlight process: assist in preparing and presenting new product concepts originating overseas through the local greenlight process.
oQA: Supervise the Quality Assurance process for assigned titles. Work closely with DIS’s QA department to maintain database for each title.
oMarketing: Collaborate regularly with brand managers on all aspects of the game.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Business-level Japanese speaking, reading, and writing ability. (Native Japanese speaker with near-native level English competency also acceptable)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in multicultural business environments.
Strong people skills and team player
Excellent project management skills
Knowledge of and interest in Disney and the Disney brands a plus.
Game development experience a plus.
Other Requirements: This position may require occasional local travel and infrequent long distance travel. If incumbent uses his or her own vehicle for transportation, they must have a valid driver’s license and carry auto insurance in the amounts and type required by law.
