Software Engineer

The Software Engineer develops, maintains and documents web software components. Works with technical support personnel and takes direction from Sr. level engineers. This position interfaces with other organizations to define requirements for new or enhanced generic web engines and tools that satisfy requirements of multiple organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience. Computer Science degree is preferred.
  • Position requires one to two years of experience or equivalent expertise.

    Additionally, the following are considered minimum requirements for the position:
  • An ability to work independently and coordinate with other organizations for requirements gathering and technology and process evangelism purposes
  • The candidate should possess the ability to recognize common user requirements and to design or recommend generic software solutions to meet them and an ability to provide guidance to other software engineers.


    SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:
    These specific skills are necessary for this position:
  • Proficiency with more common client-side and server-side web application development language such as Java, JSP, EJB, Servlets, Python, Perl, C, C++, and SQL
  • Expertise with web site design via HTML, DHTML and JavaScript, expertise with client technologies such as IE, Netscape browsers and Win32 development.
  • Expertise in working with Flash component and the Flash ActionScript programming in relation to server-side applications.
  • proficiency with web site design via HTML DHTML and JavaScript as well as client technologies such as IE, Netscape browsers and Win32 development.
  • proficiency with server technologies such as WinNT, IIS, SQL Server, UNIX, Oracle, and Netscape Enterprise Server.
  • should possess knowledge of Internet protocols and standards such as HTTP.
