PETCO has an opportunity for an Inventory Analyst to implement and administer DC replenishment strategy through the execution of the established open to buy process for assigned vendors. Review and analyze vendor performance to optimize inventory investment and support store allocation strategy.
Duties & Responsibility:
Partner with Merchandising and Store Allocation teams to execute established open to buy budget for assigned SKUs and vendors.
Prepare and review SKU level demand forecasts, seasonal profiles and promotional plans to determine proper inventory levels through the management and maintenance of the E3 DC replenishment system.
Achieve established operational and service goals including fill rate, inventory budget, inventory turnover and GMROI.
Serve as primary Inventory Management contact for each assigned vendor. Coordinate and lead meetings with vendors and provide feedback on vendor performance to Manager of Vendor Relations and Merchandising partners.
Serve as primary Inventory Management contact for each Distribution Center. Work collaboratively with DC's to ensure timely availability of product to Store allocation team.
Conduct analyses to compare inventory forecasts to budget to develop strategic inventory recommendations.
Perform order policy analysis in E3 replenishment software to determine optimal ordering strategy for each vendor.
Education & Experience:
Our candidate will have a four-year Bachelor's degree in Retail Management or a related field is required. Proven advanced ability to use applications within Microsoft Office suite as well a very strong ability to extract and analyze data from databases and make appropriate recommendations is required. Five years of replenishment buying and/or store operations experience is required. Demonstrated well-developed communication, interpersonal, financial, analytical and presentation skills are necessary due to the nature and level of interaction with peers and cross-functional teams. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
