Description:
Genesis10 is seeking a UNIX Administrator on a 6 month contract basis for a major financial services client in Jacksonville, FL.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct supply/demand and/or trend analyses and make proactive capacity planning decisions and recommendations to mitigate risk and rationalize the optimal amount of hardware, software and network resources to meet LOB service level requirements in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Provide assessment, documentation, prioritization and execution of existing and required tools, the methodologies and task plans to meet the LOB s capacity planning requirements.
- Act to resolve system performance problems by applying analytical skills to collected data to provide insight and root-cause diagnosis of system and network resources toward timely problem resolution.
- Develop, maintain, recommend, document and support tools and backend utilities used by MRCPM to provide capacity planning and performance management.
- Interface with LOB, application, systems management, engineering, vendor and technical staff in support of business requirements and service level objectives.

Experience:
Required Skills/Experience:
- 3 to 5 years advanced UNIX platform administration.
- 3 to 5 years experience with UNIX and Windows platform capacity planning and performance metrics and analysis.
- Must have the ability to utilize UNIX native commands to determine cause of performance issues and anomalies.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills; self-motivated; works well in a team environment or independently.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 1 to 3 years experience with industry standard capacity/performance data collection, VMware, SAS programming, C/C++/VB/PERL/HTML scripting, programming or equivalent development language.
- Data management and automation skills are highly desirable.
- Additional Skills: AIX, HP-UX, Linux, SAS, Solaris, SunOS, Visual Basic, Windows 2000.
