Description:
Boston Scientific's mission is to improve the quality of patient care and the productivity of health care delivery through the development and advocacy of less invasive medical devices and procedures. We are currently seeking applications for a Lean Business Process Practitioner to be part of Industrial Engineering Department. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experince within Lean thinking, 6 Sigma or Business Process Improvement. This role is available on a Defined-Term Contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
·Mentor, lead and champion lean projects within the non-production and supporting functions to achieve the site yearly objective and beyond. Production environment experience relevant and an advantage also.
·Drive the ongoing introduction and advancement of lean manufacturing culture, principles and practices across the plant and work with site management to create the Lean vision for the plant.
·Promote, educate and instill the culture of waste elimination throughout the site in non production and support areas.
·Lead initiatives in cost savings, productivity/cycle time gains and control of quality within non-production environments and support areas. Identify areas for continuous process improvement and take action to implement.
·Work collaboratively with functional area personnel in the continuous improvement of processes.
·Deliver lean training programs for employees at all levels and departments.
·Create, maintain and refine a Lean Methodology that all Lean projects use and mentor teams through the methodology.
·Promote cross-functional and inter-site teamwork to accomplish shared objectives.
·Supervise, mentor or provide work direction to other members of the Industrial Engineering team as required or directed.
·Build Quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Relevant Bachelor’s degree required (technical or business) and/or equivalent Lean/6 Sigma or Business Process Improvement (BPI) experience and qualification. Masters an advantage.
5+ years of experience (some of this in a medical device environment may be advantageous), specifically relating to Continuous Improvement, lean thinking and project implementation.
Should be flexible and capable of working on own initiative.
Is an influential team member, highly motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with the department and Site objectives with a proven track record of completing projects on schedule and to budget targets.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent Computer literacy with experience of appropriate simulation and CAD packages an advantage.
Recognized Lean/6 Sigma or BPI certification a distinct advantage.
Formal Project management training and history of leading cross functional projects an advantage.
