Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the Verizon Business data network -network security and/or voice relationship for JetBlue with focus on Operations, Service Level Agreements (SLA) and metrics, contract adherence and future technologies. Implements and reviews data network and network security and/or voice policies and ensures cohesion between all business units, IT Security, and/or Telecom and Verizon Business. This position will work closely with the data-voice network engineer.

Essential Functions:

Data Network-Network Security Engineer Á– Specific Functions

-Ensures highly reliable and available enterprise data network infrastructure
-Ensures highly reliable and available enterprise data network security infrastructure
-Works with Verizon Business to ensure JetBlue IT Security policies are implemented
-Oversees the JetBlue Verizon Business vendor relationship from a data network and network security perspective.
-Attends weekly meetings with VZB (Change Control, Quality, SLA, budget, capacity planning, MAC etc) and provides detailed reporting to IT Leadership
-Works with Verizon BusinessÁ’s SLA team to ensure monthly SLAÁ’s are met per existing contract agreements and amendments.
-Creates and tracks yearly operational budgets
-Responsible for VZB contract service amendments pertaining to data network & network security orders etc
-Coordinates new location activations and location decommissions with Verizon Business
-Meets monthly with Verizon Business focusing new data network & network security technology and technology road map future planning.
-Oversees change control process and procedures for data network and network security.
-Implements and reviews data network and network security policies and procedures.

Manager Level Á– Core Functions
-Assisst in prioritizing new development projects, enhancement projects for existing systems and systems maintenance projects
-Interfaces with IT project managers for projects in Blue Cities (i.e. gate move, ticket counter move, new ramp office)
-Works closely with various project teams, third party vendors and other groups to coordinate projects and activities.
-Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change
-Provides guidance and assesses requirements for additional services and promote use of IT services, where appropriate
-Makes recommendations regarding scope, timeline or budget changes/improvements
-Manages a portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously, potentially across multiple business units

Other Functions:

-Establishes and maintains a high level of morale and collaboration in an environment of aggressive growth and change
-Contributes to the ongoing evolution of the management and team structure

Working Conditions:

-Work Environment: Normal office environment with some travel required to JetBlue corporate offices in Queens NY and Salt Lake City Service Center (SSC). Travel to other JetBlue and Verizon Business locations may be required. Present for core business hours 8X5 local time or as required by IT Leadership.


Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:

-BachelorÁ’s degree in related discipline and/or demonstrated capability through previous experience in telecom and/or IT security, and education to perform job responsibilities.
-Masters Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science preferred
-Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher preferred
-Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) or higher preferred
-Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or higher preferred
-Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE): Routing and Switching (R&S) and CCIE: Security and/or Voice preferred
-Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
- Ten (10) to Fifteen (15) years experience in industry
- Five (5) years management experience/leadership preferred

-Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
-Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
-Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
-When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Data Network-Network Security Engineer Á– Specific Competencies
-Strong knowledge of enterprise data networking and network security
-Strong knowledge of enterprise network security and/or voice networking (Avaya preferred)
-Strong knowledge of network management systems
-Contract Management, Service Provider Invoicing and Budgeting

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio
-Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (Microsoft technologies preferred)
