Position Summary:
Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection. The Engineer Application Server Level III installs, maintains and troubleshoots web application software, hardware and related infrastructure.

Essential Functions:

-Responsible for assisting in day to day administration of the Web Infrastructure environment
-Maintains and supports JetBlueÁ’s Application Server Environment including IIS, TCP/IP, DNS, Web Services, XML, SOA, SQL, .NET applications, and others
-Conducts in depth evaluations, diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving a wide variety of complex technical issues
-Provides technical assistance and leadership for ongoing development maintenance tasks and projects
-Assists teams and provides support in planning, designing, and implementing complex systems
-Researches, evaluate, test, recommend and implement new technologies and improve existing solutions
-Develops standards, policies, and procedures regarding design and implementation of web application components and software
-Supports team in managing significant system upgrades, enhancements, migrations, server downtime, and integration
-Manages and deploy releases of new software to QA, production and disaster recovery environments
-Works to resolve any technical and/or business issues
-Resolves, coordinate and escalated back-up / recovery support problems
-Monitors servers and applications and addresses daily issues
-Must be able to provide 24hr, 7 day a week on-call support at scheduled times, on rotation.
-Must be able to have computer access within 20 minutes. On-call responsibilities require a 5 minute response time -Must be able to be on site as requested for support
-On-Call support requires Engineer to carry a working business cell phone or provide an alternate phone contact at all times

-Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. Consults with Crewleader/Teamleader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents

Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required
-BachelorÁ’s Degree or equivalent preferred
-Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certification or equivalent preferred
-Six plus (6+) years experience building and administering Windows servers
-Six plus (6+) years experience with Microsoft networking including TCP/IP
-Six plus (6+) years experience configuring and advanced troubleshooting of Microsoft Internet Information Server
-Six plus (6+) years working in an enterprise web server farm environment preferred
-Experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting web server technologies such as .NET 1.1, 2.0, XML, MSMQ, and SOA web services
-Experience working with network load balancers such as Citrix NetScaler, Cisco Content Switches or BigIP/ F5
-Experience configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005
-Experience configuring and troubleshooting Perl and CGI on IIS a plus
-Experience with Linux/Unix a plus
-VBScript, Shell, PowerShell scripting a plus
-Experience with MS-SQL databases and Active Directory
-Regular attendance and punctuality

-Ability to evaluate new tools and utilities when required to improve the Web Infrastructure Services team ability to troubleshoot, support and resolve incidents and problems quickly and effectively.
-Work effectively and efficiently on projects in a fast past, high demand environment.
-Knowledge of Microsoft development technologies based on the .NET Framework.
-Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (Microsoft technologies preferred)
