Position Summary:
Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection. The Engineer Application Server Level IV designs, installs, maintains and troubleshoots web application software, hardware and related infrastructure. Also serves as ongoing escalation and guidance for level II and III Applications Server Engineers.
Essential Functions:
-Responsible for assisting in day to day administration of the Applications Server environment
-Designs, maintains and supports JetBlueÁ’s Applications Server including IIS, TCP/IP, DNS, Web Services, XML, SOA, SQL, .NET applications, and others
-Conducts in depth evaluations, diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving a wide variety of complex technical issues
-Provides mentoring, training and technical support on new technologies and complex issues Assisting and advising clients on identifying, planning and implementing complex systems that meet business needs
-Leads teams and provides work guidance in planning, designing, and implementing complex systems
-Researches, evaluates, tests, recommends and implements new technologies
-Develops standards, policies, and procedures regarding design and implementation of hardware, software, and systems support
-Manages significant system upgrades, enhancements, migrations, server downtime, and integrations
-Coordinates and assigns resources for releases of new software to QA, production and disaster recovery environments
-Provides technical leadership to resolve any technical and/or business issues
-Resolves, coordinates and escalates back-up / recovery support problems
-Monitors servers and assists teams in addressing any daily issues as required
-Must be able to provide 24hr, 7 day a week on-call support at scheduled times, on rotation. Must be able to have computer access within 20 minutes. On-call responsibilities require a 5 minute response time
-Must be able to be on site as requested for support
-On-Call support requires Engineer to carry a working business cell phone or provide an alternate phone contact at all times

Supervision Received:
-Plans and carries out work assignments; resolves most conflicts which arise; coordinates work with others as necessary; interprets policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives. Keeps Crewleader/Teamleader informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications
Supervisory Duties:
-No supervisory responsibility, but provides guidance for level II and III Application Server Engineers and serves as a point of escalation
Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required
-BachelorÁ’s Degree or equivalent preferred
-Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certification or equivalent preferred
-Ten plus (10+) years experience building and administering Windows servers
-Ten plus (10+) years experience with Microsoft networking including TCP/IP
-Ten plus (10+) years experience configuring and advanced troubleshooting of Microsoft Internet Information Server
-Ten plus (10+) years working in an enterprise web server farm environment
-Experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting web server technologies such as .NET 1.1, 2.0, XML, MSMQ, and SOA web services
-Experience working with network load balancers such as Citrix NetScaler, Cisco Content Switches or BigIP/ F5
-Experience configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2005)
-Some experience configuring and troubleshooting Perl and CGI on IIS
-Some experience with Linux/Unix
-VBScript, Shell, PowerShell scripting
-Regular attendance and punctuality

-Technical web support lead on large projects and implementations
-Provide guidance and/or assistance to enterprise architects, development, project managers and the business
-Evaluates new tools and utilities when required to improve the Applications Server Services team ability to troubleshoot, support and resolve incidents and problems quickly and effectively
-Work effectively and efficiently on projects in a fast past, high demand environment
-Knowledge of Microsoft development technologies based on the .NET Framework
-Ability to provide application support for production environments and analyze and resolve production issues quickly and effectively
-Knowledge of Microsoft server hardware, administration and implementation
