-Position Summary:

The Enterprise Architect IV develops, maintains and governs the enterprise architecture (EA) across the organization. Defines the EA process and architecture review process, and guides the integration of those processes with the related business and IT processes. Identifies EA issues and engages affected organizations to resolve. Monitors business, market, and technology trends, evaluates their impact on the enterprise architecture, analyzes trade-offs, and incorporates into EA planning to align technology with JetBlue strategic business objectives.

Essential Functions:

-Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs
-Acts as an advisor to IT management and Business management on advanced technical topics and issues
-Requested to consult on strategic or complex issues
-Works with Business Partners on significant technical matters related to enterprise architecture
-Understands, advocates, and supports the enterpriseÁ’s IT strategies
-Identifies business drivers to derive useful business context
-Analyzes the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommends solutions for improvement
-Analyzes technology, industry, and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture
-Facilitates and contributes to the creation of governing principals to guide EA decision making
-Contributes and evaluates the selection of EA standards (data, security, technology)
-Consults with project teams to ensure that projects conform to the EA standards
-Participates in the EA governance and compliance activities
-Consults with the infrastructure teams to ensure that the infrastructure conforms to the EA standards
-Oversees the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work
-Acts as an expert of Information Technology (IT) subject matter to business groups while defining business requirements
-Assists in selecting third party Business Partners
-Helps grow technical abilities of junior Crewmembers (Technical and Solution architects)
-Works closely with project teams, business partners and other groups to coordinate plans and activities
-Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change
-Provides guidance and assesses requirements for additional services and promotes use of IT services
-Makes recommendations regarding scope, timeline or budget changes/improvements

Interactions:

-Plans and carries out work assignments; resolves most conflicts which arise; coordinates work with others as necessary; interprets policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives. Keeps Crewleader/Teamleader informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications

Supervisory Duties:

-Trains, assigns work to, and checks work of one (1) Crewmember/Teammember; does not conduct the same work as that Crewmember/Teammember on a regular basis

Crewleader/Teamleader Responsibility: If Crewleader/Teamleader, list positions directly reporting to this one.


Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:

-BachelorÁ’s Degree in Software Engineering or related field and/or demonstrated capability through previous experience and education to perform job responsibilities
-MasterÁ’s Degree Software Engineering preferred
-Ten (10) years experience in software development
-Experience is required in the following areas of the software development lifecycle: implementation two (2) to six (6) years, analysis and design two (2) to (6) six years, systems architecture or engineering two (2) to six (6) years
-Experience in the following areas: team lead/project manager, software engineering manager, test engineering, information architecture prefered
-Experience using cross-platform languages and software in application development
-Experience designing and developing applications for Microsoft and Unix based platforms
-Experience with relational database experience such as Oracle, SQL Server
-Experience with technical writing including documentation of systems or programs, user manuals, methods and procedure manuals
-Regular attendance and punctuality
-Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
-Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
-Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
-Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
-When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
