Description:
I.Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant Tax performs and supports income and franchise tax compliance, accounting, research and planning. The Senior demonstrates strong technology skills, including spreadsheet and compliance software, and the ability to meet deadlines. The Senior supports the Tax Supervisor and Tax Manager.

II.Essential Functions:

-Preparation of income, franchise and miscellaneous tax returns for various federal, state and local jurisdictions
-Assists with preparation of income tax provision and tax accruals
-Assists in creating the income and franchise tax budget
-Performs analysis and reconciliations of general ledger accounts
-Maintains internal controls over tax function
-Performs research to support tax compliance, planning and minimization of tax liabilities
-Assists in coordinating tax audits
-Ability to meet deadlines, including filing due dates and quarterly financial reporting
-Supports Tax Supervisor and Tax Manager

Experience:
III.Minimum Qualifications:

-BachelorÁ’s Degree in accounting, tax or finance
-MasterÁ’s Degree/CPA preferred but not required
-Three (3) to five (5) years tax experience with minimum of two (2) years corporate income tax experience
-Regular attendance and punctuality

-Pass a ten (10) year background check (may include credit check) and pre-employment drug test

-Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite including spreadsheet expertise
-Ability to learn/use tax compliance systems
-Ability to perform tax research and conclude on results
-Proficient written and verbal communication skills

-Present for core business hours with the ability to work overtime, including occasional weekend days, as the need arises, especially after the end of calendar quarters
