Merchandising
Job Title: Merchandise Manager
Reports To: Merchandising Vice President/GMM

this Position: Merchandiser, Senior Merchant
Key Interactions: Merchandising team, Design, Sourcing team, Planning and Store Planning and Visual teams
Position Overview:
The Merchandise Manager, in partnership with MVP/GMM, creates the vision of the product line, maintaining the brand identity and sees it through to execution. Ensures business links to corporate global strategies of the store. Merchandise Manager serves as leadership’s voice to line management and vice versa and develops a strong Cross-Functional Team.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Financial -
Drives top-line financial objectives for the departments to achieve sales and margin plans.
Analyze business weekly to capture current trends and recommend future actions that will maximize sales opportunity and minimize liability.
Drives the business through a global understanding and vision of the business, market, and industry.
Identifies growth opportunities and maximizes returns by balancing current trends, future trends and past successes.
Responsible for recommending and implementing profitable liquidation strategies.
Product -
Collaborates with MVP, design, and key merchants to look at best sellers from ATS and establishes seasonal product strategy.
Orchestrates team effort to build and edit line based on knowledge of the business needs, fashion trends and competition.
Lead Line Review coordination to meet client expectations and identify areas of opportunity: ensure wardrobability of the line.
Oversees weekly fit sessions efficiently and effectively working with tech team to ensure specs are interpreted appropriately for the factory client.
Creates the seasonal framework strategies and collaborates with planning and production to ensure business needs are met.
Shops competition on a monthly basis for current Ann appropriate fashion trends, price points, and promotional opportunities.
Operational -
Partners with Visual Team to enhance in-store presentations.
Streamlines processes, improves efficiencies and formulates and implements strategies, to grow the business.
Orchestrates the collaboration with other key merchants to ensure store wardrobability of the line
People Management:
Provides consistent leadership, motivation and direction within Cross-Functional Team.
Manages priorities and expectations to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness.
Maximizes CFT effectiveness
Partners with associates to provide challenging work environment, builds bench strength and retains talent
Position Requirements:
Bachelors degree and 6 - 8 years related experience (3 - 4 years experience as a Merchant)
Possesses strategic, conceptual and innovative thought process
Strong analytical skills and clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them
Exceptional communication, presentation and persuasion skills
Demonstrates leadership profile and ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and divisions
Ability to maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals
Demonstrates the organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-pace environment
Ability to accurately assess employee strengths and development needs
Strong computer skills
