Sales / Group Medicare Consultant

This role is responsible for Group Medicare Sales activities in assigned markets ( Florida, Georgia, Alabama & South Carolina )including new and existing customer business development, client retention, business development strategy and oversight, and active collaboration with commercial sales and account management executives in developing and closing Group Medicare sales opportunities.

Provides strategic direction for growth in the Group Medicare segment in assigned markets by:

  • Developing relationships with brokers and consultants that produce qualified prospects for Group Medicare Sales opportunities.
  • Managing or participating in the quote and proposal process, including prospect qualification and presentation of Humana Group Medicare product offerings and capabilities.
  • Monitoring and, as appropriate, participating in existing Group Medicare customer relationships with the objective of improving revenue persistency
  • Educating brokers and customers about the advantages of Humana's Group Medicare products and services, including organizing and conducting regional campaigns to improve broker and customer relationships through seminars, roundtables and other promotional and educational programs.
  • Supporting his or her Group Medicare Director and other members of the Group Medicare team on a variety of marketing, product development and other activities related to promoting and improving Humana's Group Medicare products and opportunities.
  • Interacting collaboratively with Group Medicare, and where appropriate, commercial operations to address service or other administrative issues and to better position of new and existing Group Medicare accounts.
  • Reporting monthly on new business development and client retention activity.

    Role Essentials
    Minimum of 3 years of sales or account management experience in insurance or related products, with Medicare or senior products experience
    Applicable State Life & Health License
    Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills
    Excellent presentation skills in addition to verbal and written communication skills
    Working knowledge of and ability to use effectively Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
    Ability and willingness to work independently, with little supervision
    Ability to travel locally 4 days/week and travel overnight 5-10 days/month
    Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

    Role Desirables
    Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Finance or a related field
    5 years of sales or account management experience in insurance or related products, with Medicare or senior products experience preferred
