Senior Counsel – Disney Interactive Media Group
POSITION SUMMARY
The attorney will provide long term strategic and short term tactical legal advice on non-US matters related to the acquisition, development, operation and distribution of interactive content, including virtual worlds, casual games, console games, websites, mobile devices and social media, and draft and negotiate related agreements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will assist with all aspects of the interactive business, including policy, contracts, compliance and clearance for interactive content, by working with the business leads and other professionals in the legal department.This includes working with others to set policies, reviewing content for compliance with policies, drafting legal correspondence and legal documents; providing guidance and training to other attorneys and paralegals both in the US and outside of the US; assisting with due diligence related to transactional matters; and assisting the team with other special projects as may be necessary from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 8 years experience providing legal advice, and negotiating and drafting contracts, for a law firm advising major corporate clients and/or corporate legal department, preferably specializing in interactive matters;
Experience working under both US and non-US legal regimes;
Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and devise solutions and strategies;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high tolerance for ambiguity;
Strong drafting, negotiating and writing skills, as well as the ability to problem solve in a business-friendly, creative manner;
An excellent work ethic and commitment to professionalism, excellent attention to detail;
Strong interpersonal skills with all levels both internal and external, and be highly team-oriented;
Must be willing to take “ownership” of projects and think proactively;
Ability to handle a high volume of work and work through projects with minimal supervision;
Superior organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize workload efficiently and effectively;
Willingness to learn and use new research materials and practice tools;
Law degree from a top-tier, accredited law school required; and
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
