Description:
Position Summary:

Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection. The Engineer Applications Server Level II installs, maintains and troubleshoots web application software, hardware and related infrastructure.

Essential Functions:

* Responsible for assisting in day to day administration of the Applications Server environment
* Maintains and supports JetBlue's Applications Server including IIS, TCP/IP, DNS, Web Services, XML, SOA, SQL, .NET applications, and others
* Conducts evaluations, diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving a wide variety of complex technical issues
* Provide technical assistance for ongoing development maintenance tasks and projects
* Assists teams and provides support in implementing complex systems
* Follow standards, policies, and procedures regarding design and implementation of web application components and software
* Support team in managing significant system upgrades, enhancements, migrations, server downtime, and integration
* Deploy releases of new software to QA, production and disaster recovery environments
* Work to resolve any technical and/or business issues
* Monitors servers and applications and addresses daily issues
* Must be able to provide 24hr, 7 day a week on-call support at scheduled times, on rotation.
* Must be able to have computer access within 20 minutes (On-call responsibilities require a 5 minute response time Á– applicable on for Airport Operations Support Team and Interface Team Postings. Remove when PE is used for other teams.)
* Must be able to be on site as requested for support
* On-Call support requires Engineer to carry a working business cell phone or provide an alternate phone contact at all times

Supervision Received:
* Receives general instructions on what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines, and priority of assignments from Crewleader/Teamleader. Uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction but receives additional specific instructions from Crewleader/Teamleader for new, difficult, or special projects/assignments

Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required
* Bachelo''s Degree or equivalent preferred
* Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certification or equivalent preferred
* Four plus (4+) years experience building and administering Windows servers
* Four plus (4+) years experience with Microsoft networking including TCP/IP
* Four plus (4+) years experience configuring and advanced troubleshooting of Microsoft Internet Information Server
* Four plus (4+) years working in an enterprise web server farm environment preferred
* Experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting web server technologies such as .NET 1.1, 2.0, XML, MSMQ, and web services
* Experience working with network load balancers such as Citrix NetScaler, Cisco Content Switches or BigIP/ F5 preferred
* Experience configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005 preferred
* Experience with Linux/Unix a plus
* VBScript, Shell, PowerShell scripting preferred
* Regular attendance and punctuality
