Position Summary:

The Revenue Management Systems team is responsible for the deployment, refinement and maintenance of all inventory and pricing systems used within the revenue management department. The senior analyst provides front-line business and technical support to the users of all RM/pricing systems, and manages the relationship with JetBlue's IT department and business partners for secondary support. The senior analyst is also responsible for constantly improving the effectiveness of the department through regular systems training, systems enhancements, bug-fixes, implementation of new technologies, and by ensuring reasonable uptime of systems.

The senior analyst will work closely with many groups within and outside Revenue Management (e.g., Schedule and Network Planning, Customer Support, Airline Partnerships, Revenue Accounting, Systems Operations, IT, Quality Assurance) to implement cross-functional business requirements and company-wide initiatives in RM systems.

In addition, the senior analyst will develop computer codes to extract, model, analyze, and summarize large volumes of data culled from inventory, reservations, pricing and other databases; identify patterns and "hidden" revenue opportunities in the data using pattern recognition, cluster analysis, or other artificial intelligence theory, concepts and algorithms; build Decision Support tools for users of RM systems; and develop system performance dashboards for senior management.

Essential Functions:

* Serves as a liaison with the IT department as well as with external groups and vendors engaging in the identification, development, and testing of new applications and enhancements as they relate to revenue planning systems

*Assists in evaluating forecasting and optimization models for the revenue planning system on an ongoing basis, including working with Revenue Management managers to incorporate all business needs
* Develops and implements computer algorithms to identify patterns and "hidden" revenue opportunities in data
* Assists in identification of system failures and in the resolution of problems during system downtime
* Ensures compatibility of peripheral systems to the revenue planning system
* Works with IT managers to ensure integrity of the revenue planning data and hardware infrastructure
* Engages in other ad hoc projects and assignments as appropriate.


Interactions:


Supervision Received:

* Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. Consults with Crewleader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents


Supervisory Duties:

* No supervisory responsibility but is responsible for managing a specific function


Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, physics, applied mathematics, operations research or related field
* Master's Degree preferred
* Three (3) to five (5) years of airline revenue management or pricing experience
* Regular attendance and punctuality
* Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
* Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
* Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
* Proficient with databases, SQL, and SAS
* Knowledge of C++ and Perl
* Knowledge of pattern recognition, cluster analysis, or related artificial intelligence theory, concepts and algorithms
* Analytical or quantitative education/experience or aptitude
* Previous experience with or exposure to revenue management systems
* Familiarity with revenue management theory and concepts
* Knowledge of ATPCO filing instructions
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
* Customer service orientation, ability to develop relationships across departments
