Description:
Under the direction of the Director - Vitreous Project Engineering, Kitchen & Bath Group the incumbent plans, organizes and directs engineering projects involving the installation of new equipment, new manufacturing processes, tooling, construction of new facilities, and the expansion of existing facilities. Project responsibility begins with the planning phase and ends with successful start-up when the project is turned completely over to Manufacturing.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical expertise within a small team of engineers to analyze and define specific operations, process flow and facility layouts for new, revised or expanded vitreous manufacturing facilities, and additions to current product lines.

Develop capital and manufacturing cost estimates associated with vitreous capacity expansion, process revisions or additions to current product lines.

Obtain quotations or cost data for materials, tools, equipment, supplies and building modifications concerning assigned project or products.

Determine manpower needs for new, revised, or expanded manufacturing operations and prepare appropriate job or position descriptions.

Prepares capital planning and capital expenditure requests, documents and requests for assigned projects.

Assist in the planning, purchase, installation and debugging of new equipment or tools.

Recommend changes in project scope; process to improve functional characteristics; cost acceptance or rejection of a proposed project; purchase and use of specific types of machinery, equipment or tools.

Investigate the feasibility of new or improved processes, equipment and materials for use in the manufacture of existing and new vitreous products.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Ceramic Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program. Ten or more years of related work experience or Advanced technical degree with 8 or more years work experience in the field of Ceramic manufacturing. Past results include successful technical contributions on a major project.
Multiple language skills will be considered an added benefit. Ability to communicate clearly in English (speak, read, and write) is essential.
