PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
This position focuses on reporting, analyzing and enhancing the integrity, quality and timeliness of processes, data and information for TPD as it relates to fund policy, fee payment programs, CRM system, TPD budgeting, procedures, and other projects as assigned. Also provides reporting and analytical support for TPD monthly management reports, TPD Scorecard and the distribution of Critical Communications.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILTIES
1. Creates, generates and continually seeks to improve, streamline, and automate processes and data integrity regarding the T. Rowe Price Fee Payment programs for institutional business units. Incumbent must possess a strong understanding of complex enterprise fee payment programs including AFP & 12b-1 fees, policies governing payments and practices, and client specific nuances. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Maintain, update and track client payment information using databases and complex Excel spreadsheets to facilitate quarterly and year-end Fund Board reporting requirements.
Generate and maintain iAvenue reports for all fee payment programs
2. Participates in or leads projects related to fee program projects to improve TRP’s fee payment program. Incumbent continually seeks to automate and enhance existing systems and business processes. Must be able to interpret business needs, investigate technical and business solutions and use expertise to make recommendations and implement solutions. Upon request, incumbent performs hypothetical fee payments analysis, coordinates and automates bi-annual certification process, generates supporting materials (charts, spreadsheets, etc.) and ensures overall data quality. Additionally, the incumbent will work with TRP technology and operations teams to scope, document, test and implement system enhancements as well as investigate opportunities and make recommendations for the adoption of new systems including those offered by external vendors.
3. Creates , implements, and maintains periodic and/or ad hoc-on-request reports pertaining to such topics as fee payments, net fund expenses, benchmarks, budget, compliance and TPD Scorecard. These reports require advanced spreadsheet skills due to their highly complex architectures as well as a thorough understanding of TPD and Fund data elements to ensure reasonableness and accuracy of analysis. Incumbent is responsible for the collection, QC, enhancement and distribution of these various reports as well as posting to TPD’s intranet site where appropriate.
4. Facilitates the distribution of Critical Communications to TPD and FIS clients. Uses technical expertise in working with iAvenue database and advanced Excel and Access skills to seek improvements and perform analysis for impacted clients. Coordinates content review with MIS, Legal and TPD Senior Account Management; creates HTML documents;
5. Participates in ad hoc, unassigned project work primarily dealing with generating and analyzing large amounts of data obtained through various databases and spreadsheets (e.g. iAvenue, fee program schedules, internal monthly reports). May perform investigation and comparisons of industry data to incorporate into analysis and recommendations. May serve in the CRC coordinator role
QUALIFICATIONS
* College degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent and a minimum of three years related work experience
Knowledge of mutual fund operational environment
Strong business acumen and analytical skills
Advanced Excel and Access skills
Project Management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to construct organized, well written documents that provide the appropriate level of detail/information to meet the target audience’s needs
High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and client service skills
Able to maintain working relationships with clients at all levels and across business units
Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of detailed information
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently
Advanced MS Office skills preferred
Knowledge of Business Objects and HTML preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Strong knowledge of industry fee payment process preferred
Knowledge of DST TA2000 and NSCC mutual fund processing preferred
