The Finance Manager provides financial support to Wyeth's Discovery Research organization. This includes but is not limited to budget review and analysis, operating expenditure review and analysis, capital and operating expenditure review, and variance reporting. The Finance Manager will provide financial project management and contract support for Discovery Research operational strategy and collaborations. Examples of this include serving as the Finance Project Manager for long-term collaborations, alliances, capital spending, business case development for strategic decisions, facilities TCO modeling, and other financial modeling.
Additional responsibilities include partnering, on a regular basis, with Discovery group Budget Coordinators and Contract Managers to guide the development & completion of the monthly forecast projection of year-end expenses and assuring accuracy. Travel is needed to all Discovery Research sites to understand operational issues impacting Discovery and provides creative analysis and solutions. Over time the role will focus on automation
This position requires a Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred) in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 6 years of financial work experience. Knowledge of SAP R/3, SAP Business Warehouse and working knowledge of GAAP and Wyeth accounting policies and procedures. Strong forecasting/analytical skills, PC skills (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, MS Access) and interpersonal communication skills are a must.
