Medical Director

Kohler Co., a world-class manufacturer is seeking to add to the team, a highly qualified Medical Director.

The Medical Director will be responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and maintenance of Kohler Co. medical and health services. The Medical Director is an administrative / clinical physician who, in addition to directing overall Corporate medical programs, provides direct medical services to associates / patients.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Providing high quality, cost-effective medical care in diagnosing and treating occupational, non-occupational, and environmental illnesses and injuries; maximizing the associate's functional recovery and activity capacity; refering individuals for specialty and/or emergency care as needed.
  • Developing, implementing and managing of comprehensive occupational / environmental health programs that enhance the health, safety, and productivity of workers, including but not limited to DOT, OSHA and administrative test programs. Program activities may vary depending upon the Medical Director's practice setting, geographic locale, and the characteristics of company needs.
  • Recognizing and addressing conditions of public health importance with an emphasis on prevention, as well as monitor the Kohler Co. population for indicators of adverse occupational, non-occupational, and environmental health effects.
  • Evaluating potentially hazardous workplace and environmental conditions; the impact of such exposures on individual worker and the public health; recommend or implement programs to reduce such exposures.
  • Developing and administering medical and fitness "wellness" programs to improve the health of associates and dependents, as well as counsel associates about their lifestyle risk factors and clinical preventive needs.

    Education Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine Degree or Doctor of Osteopathy Degree with a minimum of five years industrial medicine experience preferred.
  • Must have ethical standing in the medical profession and be eligible for membership in the Sheboygan County Medical Society; in turn, have membership in the American Medical Association or American Osteopathic Association.
  • Formal (accredited) residency training in internal or occupational medicine preferred.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse disorders with appropriate training to interpret and evaluate positive drug test results preferred.
  • Masters of Public Health degree preferred.
  • Board Certification in Occupational Medicine optimally preferred.
