Description:
NH RN licensure and BSN required, proven clinical expertise and leadership qualities are essential. The Cardiothoracic Service leader supervises and coordinates the daily operations, is accountable for the daily clinical and performance management of the CVOR and assists with the quality management responsibilities. The CSL must demonstrate expert knowledge of the clinical specialty, advanced critical thinking processes, and effective communication with all levels of staff. Essential duties include: Orientation of scrub and circulating staff, Assist in external and internal recruitment of staff, Develop resource materials for procedures, Protocol review on rotating basis and as needed to address clinical issues, Establish staff meetings to facilitate clinical feedback and incident focused education and training, Establish schedule of relevant specialty meetings (hospital, regional and national), Establish clinically appropriate educational goals for the OR Staff and monitor their progress to those goals. Develop clinical protocols using personal experience, resources to identify and adopt ?best practices?. Evaluates activities of the cardiovascular and thoracic service to ensure achievement of patient care standards, staff relations, safety standards, and effectiveness and efficiency of service. Other duties may be assigned. Full time, 40 hours per week
