Job Description

The Estimator job, based in Calgary, Alberta, is a 12 month contract position with our client. To be considered for the Estimator role, the successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in major project estimating in the oil and gas industry. Some travel to remote sites will be required.

Responsibilities of the Estimator job include:

- Ensure that estimates adhere to current models, and standards
- Propose cost reduction and project performance improvements
- Work alongside other team members and subcontractors as required, and provide mentorship as required
- Provide accurate estimates on equipment, labour, and manpower requirements
- Attend site and client meetings as required


- Expertise with estimating civil, structural, piping, instrumentation, electrical, and equipment scopes of work
- Technical training, such as post-secondary education
- Demonstrated skills in project controls, problem solving, and critical decision making
- Software expertise, including MS Office and SAP
- Knowledge of estimating programs would be a strong asset
- Strong communication skills
