Responsibilities for this Human Resources Assistant position include, but are not limited to:

-Provides advanced administrative support to the HR Consultant, Site Leader or HR Manager
-In addition to providing administrative support for all facets of the recruiting and staffing process, may be asked to handle certain aspects of the staffing process (e.g. screening resumes, developing and/or extending job offers for interns/non-exempt labor, advertisements, contract labor).
-Maintains member records in HRIS system including new hires and terminations
-Acts as a liaison with Payroll, initiating and processing change of status forms. May handle payroll processes in some non-domestic locations.
-Provides support and information to the general membership regarding HR resources, policies and procedures
-Participant of the Lawson PUN group with input into key HR administrative processes such as HRIS data entry and maintenance, benefits administration (in small locations); training database administration and staffing.
-Provides critical support for HR projects.
-Performs employment verifications and background checks.
-Conducts New Member Orientation
-Owns key processes within location (e.g. Education Reimbursement; HR Metrics)
-Acts as a trainer and mentor to other HR Assistants within the organization
-Maintaining Benefits records in the HRIS system
-Managing the administration of Disability and Worker's Compensation cases
-Administering the employee badge system
-Acting as a backup for the switchboard operator
-Maintains calendars and schedules for HR Consultant and HR Manager

Experience Required


-Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources Assistant role or equivalent administrative assistant experience required.
-High School Diploma required; Associates Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
-Training in HR related areas such as Labor Law, Staffing, Benefits and Compensation desired.
-Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
-Ability to appropriately manage confidential information
-Ability to plan and organize; strong attention to detail
-Ability to communicate effectively, using good judgment, tact and discretion. In addition, have the ability to influence and provide direction on basic HR matters.
-Expert knowledge of HRIS user environment
-Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
-Ability to multi-task effectively, while ensuring quality results and timeliness
-Strong customer service focus
-Solid understanding of HR function and ability to apply skills necessary to support all functions of the department
-Strong problem-solving skills
-Ability to research, develop, present and own specific areas of responsibilities or projects
-Ability to train others effectively
