Adecco is assisting a local client, a roofing company, in recruiting for a detail-oriented and experienced professional, Bookkeeper/Office Administrator in the west end of Richmond, VA. This is for a temp-to-hire opportunity that will give you valuable experience to enhance your career. As a Bookkeeper/Office Administrator you will compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep office financial records complete. Bookkeepers will also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other associates. Responsibilities for this Bookkeeper/Office Administrator job include:

- Handle client calls/orders/administrative duties
- Assist the owner in meeting clientele and workers at various project locations, as needed. - - Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information
- Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
- Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers
- Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software
- Receive, record, and process cash, checks, and vouchers
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
- Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses
- Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years in bookkeeping experience or equivalent in college
- Must be motivated & able to work independently
- Working hours – 5 days/week with 5-6 hour days to start
- Pay will start $15-20/hour depending on experience
